The phenomenon of repetition in the poetry of Al-Sahib bin Abbad

Abstract

Repetition is a literary style of the art of saying used by Arabs in their poetry and prose. From here, this research aimed to reveal repetition in the poetry of Al-Sahib bin Abbad and identify its types and formulations, and then stop the research when the critics’ opinions and their differing opinions about it. It is based on the use of repetition based on rhetorical devices that are common in the poetry of the Sahib, including reply the first line to the second line, lliteration, and similarity of limbs. The role of these types of refining in the syntax of different forms, and their ability to create poetic contexts with strong and exciting connotations that leave their semantic impact on the text, whether it is in confirming the meaning, or in achieving a goal that the poet seeks to achieve, was highlighted.
