Abstract

     There have been many historical studies and research that dealt with the problem of the border between Iraq and Kuwait, but the American role in the issue of the shared fields on the border between the two countries is considered one of the important topics as it is a major reason for the outbreak of problems and the aggravation of crises in contemporary history between Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations, which witnessed specificity in all fields, as it was It was tinged with caution, threats, and contradictions in most of its stages until the deterioration in relations between the two countries reached a high degree of military escalation that ended with Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in 1990 and the region’s entry into international conflicts that added to an economic blockade on Iraq and then its military invasion with international and American will in 2003.The United States and its giant companies intervened in the process of managing the oil fields shared on the border between Iraq and Kuwait, which negatively affected Iraq’s economy and its oil wealth, in a direction that served the Kuwaitis and the American monopoly companies.
