Abstract

It is the State that decides how to extend its control over its water borders. Most importantly, it is the State that, in accordance with the principle of State sovereignty over its natural wealth, determines the economic policies appropriate for it in order to achieve internal development. On the basis of the sovereign equality of all States, no State can enter and impose certain policies on another State. Article 1 of the Charter of Rights and Duties of States stipulates that: " The role of international law is to protect the common rights of States bordering border rivers to prevent infringement of their rights to these waters. International procedures for the protection of water boundaries consist of international conventions and declarations, as well as decisions of international organizations, in addition to international custom and the rules of international law and international justice, which play an important role in protecting the water boundaries of riparian States and preventing international water disputes procedures ", as well as operational procedures that contribute to the protection of the water boundaries of riparian States, namely diplomatic and political settlement and international arbitration.
