The necessary digital culture for graduate students: its obstatcles and ways to enhance it.

Summary of the research

The aim of this study is to explore the current status and barriers to digital literacy and identify ways to enhance it. A questionnaire tool consisting of 52 items distributed across three main dimensions was utilized. The Likert five-point scale was employed to measure the items. After ensuring the validity and reliability of the tool, it was administered to a sample of 132 students. The data obtained from the sample responses were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and percentage weight

The study found the following results:

1-The results indicated that postgraduate students have a low level of digital literacy.

2-The results revealed a significant difference in digital literacy between students in scientific and humanities disciplines. However, there was no significant difference in digital literacy between master's and doctoral students.

3-Postgraduate students identified barriers to acquiring digital literacy, especially in humanities-related postgraduate programs.

4-Postgraduate students agreed on the importance of enhancing digital literacy and the necessity of making changes to postgraduate programs to provide an educational environment that supports its development.

Based on the study findings, the following recommendations were made

1-Updating postgraduate programs: Postgraduate programs should be reviewed to ensure the inclusion of content that promotes digital literacy. These programs should incorporate essential digital skills such as technology proficiency, electronic research and analysis, social media communication, and other relevant digital competencies.

2-Providing necessary infrastructure: An educational environment that supports the enhancement of digital literacy should be established, including the provision of necessary devices, software, and communication facilities. High-speed internet access and relevant digital resources should be made available
