The development of the trade sector in the Basrah District after the July 14 - 1958-1963 A.D. revolution

Abstract

This research studies the position of the government of Abdul Karim Qasim (1958- 1963) on the commercial sector in  Basrah city through expanding ports and supporting trade relations with socialist countries,  the new government sought since the first year of its life to support the agreement on economic and technical cooperation between Iraq and the Soviet Union in 1959. The terms of the agreement stipulated the development of means of maritime transport and the promotion of foreign trade movement and support the import and export operations through the port.
